Armourers Licence

Post by Crackshot101 on Mon May 19 2008, 09:03

Hey lads ive been approached by a small theatre about using some of my airsoft gungs in a play. This fueled my idea to set my self up as an armourer for films and theatres as i studdied film in college and this was one of the ares that i was interested in but never tought. Just wanted to know even though you dont need a licence to buy the gungs, do u need one to rent them out?

I'd go for the metal china clones for renting out, if they are not picky about markings.

Airsoft replicas are companly used in films more so than you would think, the setting up of a cataloge for use in films was an area i looked into.

That is very true. I have seen a lot of shops in the East which has been suppliers for movies. And sites in US who rents out to filming in the week and airsoft in the weekends. All you need is a lot of softguns(oh so sad..) and a lot of contacts.

airsoft replicas are great for production due to teh safety the fact
there safe to just had to an actor or extra and no additional licenses
are needed and the insurance company will not have a minimal and means
you only need a hand full or hero models, not just the aegs, but the
gbb and a lot of airsoft tactical gear,
products produced by company's like pantac and good reproduction
tactical equipment are much sort after by movies due to the low cost
compared to the real thing and availability (genuine tactical like
eagle industries are getting rather thin on the ground due to the
current conflicts
