TO ALL SAS-C MEMBERS... From the barrel of a concerned player/member.
(This is not on behalf of Oz, it's a personal rant)
Lad's seriously, we're gonna have to start seeing some heads down in SAS-C. The last few days have been fantastic, but the numbers could have been a lot better. Oz and the lads have but time, effort not to mention money into this setting up what I see as the best setup currently available in the South, and by that I meant the Republic.
Like I said, enough of the chairsofting, you've spent the money and bought the devices and all the gear, now it's time to get it scratched and worn in a lil.
SAS-C will become a fully closed private operation if this keeps up.
No more proper (insured) places to play, no more barking mad ozzie, no more shots to the head from r0n0c.
No more SAS-C period!
Like I said last time, get over to
http://corkairsoft.darkbb.com/events-f6/game-day-sunday-15th-june-t192.htm
Put your name down, get your gear ready and get down here! If you're stuck for a lift, PM r0n0c or myself. No more excuses.
This rant is not sanctioned nor on behalf of SAS-C. It's on behalf of the few heads who are turning up on a regular basis and are supporting Oz and his efforts to keep SAS-C open!
crank and moan all ye want, but do it on the 15th June at SAS-C. We can argue between games.
Cheers
Vintz!

Re: TO ALL SAS-C MEMBERS... From the barrel of a concerned player/member.
Thanks Vintz.
Its true lads SAS-C will die out if we don't support it, I cant afford to pay the insurance and the last 2 months have cost me, if this keeps up SAS-C will be closed in the next 2 months, Finished, no more.
I have to put up the price to 25euro a day.
Or 16 days at SAS-C for 200euro. that's 12.50euro a day, save 200e.
Or 8 days at SAS-C for 125euro. that's 15.60euro a day, save 75e.
To be used any Sunday this year, and I will be open 3 Sundays a month.
This is all just to cover the insurance, witch is 350euro a month.
I know its a lot to ask but I have no choice, I have some great support but need more if the only airsoft site in Cork is to stay open.
Just as people will support a football club, we need that support too.
If I'm not doing enough, or you have some idea's, I will be happy to hear them, feel free to pm me.
Please show your support.
Thank you.

Hav been out of action for a good few weeks with ligoment damage to me lower back,,all goin well il be fit(well as fit as an 18 stone man can be)over the next 1 to 2 weeks,,hav been itching to get back to it,but as this is the third time to damage me back like this, i just whant to make sure its right first,,,,any way chasing the kids around with an m4 is getting boring,,,,,,wonder if the wife would think its funny,,,,,,back to the matter though,,i hav at least 3-4 freinds in dublin who hav never heard of airsoft, but as soon as they saw the gear that i hav(and its fairly standerd stuff,,nothing fancy)they were amazed,,so much so that two aff them hav bought a few bits and pieces,,,so i know for a fact that they will come with me next time,,,,,,any way could that be the problem,,,do enough people know about airsoft, the reason i say this is because everybody i know(even me da)is amazed to find that it exists and all o them(yes me da asswell, and he is 62)hav all expressed a keen interest in it,,,,,,anyway its just a thought, but could advertising either by simple word of mouth or even flyers help the cause,,,,,just a thought.
Re: TO ALL SAS-C MEMBERS... From the barrel of a concerned player/member.
Word of mouth will help allot as for the fliers will have to look in to it.
The post is not a dig at anyone, its just to let yas know that the site is struggling to keep afloat, and as we nearly have 80 members and where now open to anyone over 18 with there own kit, just made me wonder, was it some thing I said?? Is the site not good enough??
I also understand that people have other things that they must do on Sundays and have no prob with that, as I had things that I had to do the last 2 weekends.
The site is non profit, all moneys go to the insurance, any thing left over goes back into the club.
I cant cater for rentals if people wont come to rent them, I cant do a 48hour campaign if people wont turn up, so for me its hard to plan anything. It may be my site, but its for all of us to play on and have a say in.
I have invited some of the Dub teams to come and play and hope to have team comps here at some stage in the future.

Jesus ur bringing the Dubs down,,,,hope you all hav locking wheel nuts.,,,,,,,,,,,,,i think the site is fine, and the craic i had down there was great,,,,,dont know if u hav ever been to the hrta, but its like working in a big wharehouse(no offence intended) ur just a number, there is no sence of community,,,and thats why id be more than happy to make the drive from Dublin to Cork on sunday,,,,,,the venue is nicer,,,the people are nicer.
Re: TO ALL SAS-C MEMBERS... From the barrel of a concerned player/member.
If cork isn't willing to play, they'll have to. Hope those guys in Kilarney will start to come along.
Re: TO ALL SAS-C MEMBERS... From the barrel of a concerned player/member.
My brother, cousin and myself have not been at the site yet due to "startup problems" (ie. no gear/crap gear & never been airsofting before - some painful learning on parts maintenance involved) but we're almost there now.
Hope to be sorted in the next two weeks or so, then you'll have a few more VERY regulars.
Edit: SERIOUS gear issues = Me & Bro bought completely crap batteries with our AEGs (hindsight is great innit?), thought AEGs were broken (2 of them) etc. spent AGES stripping, cleaning re-building etc. Now hopefully have "the right stuff" (once they get out of customs).
Vintz knows the cousin (Reggie) so he might be able to pry him out of hiding
on a regular basis.
p.s I would be delighted to bulk-buy my time if it keeps the site open.

Re: TO ALL SAS-C MEMBERS... From the barrel of a concerned player/member.
Wish i could get down more to play as well but due to the birth off my second kid my free time has drop away to zero. Coming on the 15th really looking forward to it.
Re: TO ALL SAS-C MEMBERS... From the barrel of a concerned player/member.
I really wish i could get down more often, but i work weekends and its killing me that i can't get down more often. Firing the guns down my back yard is getting boaring. Was talking a few of the lads that were down before and they're just waiting to be able to get some propper gear. Plus we are trying to get a few more on board. I have a fella who really wants to try it out. So we have a few more soon. Hopefully that will help things.

Being a Dub myself,i think i can give you a few good tips on beating the p!ss out of them,,
1-Tell them that most of the houses around the area hav no alarms/weather glazing,,,,,not a hope of them concentrating on the game in hand.
2-Plant cans of Dutch Gold in open areas around the playing field,,,,,ideal for drawing them out into the open,,,,,cannon fodder.
3-Hav a junior cert match,,only those who hav sat there junior cert may attend,,,should be a walk over.
4-No Nike Air Max runners/Tracksuits should be aloud on the field,,,,,that will cut their numbers.
5-Hav a holding cell match,,,only those who hav not spent a night in a Garda holding cell may attend,,,nuff said.
6-Last, but not least,,,an allright match,,only those who can pronounce allright the correct way may attend.
